Can you remember the last time when you stayed you stayed away from your phone without checking it for more than an hour. I guess if that time would be there it was exam or detention. Phone is the one thing which we check before leaving home after keys and wallet. Smartphones have helped us in a lot of ways from searching, doodling to  selfies. It would be a nightmare if someone told me to stay away from the phone for more than an hour. But the best thing that came with the Smartphone is the social media apps which allowed us to share our world with the millions of people around the world.

Facebook is the number one social  media platform used by every teen around the world. But it’s not the one which is popular among the teens there are others like instagram, vine and many more. Now below is the list of five most popular apps other than facebook.

According to Nielson it’s the top photography app between the age of 12 to 17. This app lets you post photos, short Videos on your page. In addition to that you can follow famous people, comment and tag friends. Instagram is app only and lets you tweak your pictures using various filters and effects.

2. WhatsApp:               
It is the one of the most popular messaging app on the planet. It’s hardly any time goes by when I don’t check  my WhatsApp every hour. WhatsApp has a user base over 900 million. It’s one of the top social media platforms popular amongst everybody. WhatsApp allows you to send message, pictures, videos. Further you can do calling through this app.

This social media platform has given new meaning to videos. That means this six second video taking app which is owned by twitter is great. You can take six second video with pauses and effects as your liking and post them to your vine feeds or other media platforms. The best thing about this app is that it can join two different segments of the video seamlessly.

4. Snapchat:

Forget everything else Snapchat is here, Instagram is yesterday. Snapchat is the new best thing out there. This app allows you to send photos and videos to your friend and this message that disappears after one viewing. So the security is well taken care of. Snapchat also reduces the pressure for feedback in terms of "likes" and comments further, everything is in real-time you can make your friends jealous about a party which you have been too. This is the next big thing.

It’s another blogging platform but with pictures. Simplicity is the key mantra for Tumblr. Once you Log in then you will realize how easy it is to post and share. Experts say that there are more teen on Tumblr than on Facebook and Instagram. So, it’s a great way to showcase your creativity and personalize according to your liking. Tumblr if used wisely is a great platform.
